Abstarct: In this thesis, a novel control algorithm baxsed on sliding mode control approach is proposed. In specific, a tracking algorithm named Integrated Hidden-loop Dynamic Sliding Mode Control, is developed for nonlinear systems using the sliding mode approach which combines the advantages of dynamic sliding mode control, PI control, and multi-loop control. Moreover, proposed controller is designed for several control objectives using a single control method. This method guarantees rejection of disturbances, tracking sinusoidal and DC signal, having robustness in the presence of parameter uncertainties, and rejecting the disturbing harmonics on the states. The proposed integrated hidden loop control is the proposed controller which are formulated baxsed on Lyapunov stability theory. The performance of proposed controller is investigated by applying to standalone and grid connected single stage boost inverter. The superiority of proposed method is verified by comparing the simulation and laboratory results in different cases for proposed method and conventional method. Compared to the conventional controllers, the proposed controller offers several fine features including fast and chattering-free response, robustness against parameter uncertainty, smooth control, proper steady-state error, power decoupling, good total harmonic distortion over the output states, and simple implementation.
